2014年7月1日～7月15日、9月14日に富士山の山梨県側の富士吉田ルートにおいてほっ!トイレの無償配布を実施しました。期間中全量で12,000個ほど配布しました。
山岳地域でのこれ大々的に携帯トイレの配布を行った例はなく、山岳地域での携帯トイレ普及への大きな第一歩となるプロジェクトです。
富士吉田口の5合目山道入り口での入山料徴収と同時にほっ!トイレを配布し、下山した方でほっ!トイレを使用した方は、富士吉田口の5合目での回収となります。

今回の富士山プロジェクトでは、山梨県庁の方が処理後袋の回収時にアンケートを実施。
アンケートでは、下記のご回答を頂きました。

　・携帯トイレの必要性　　必要          76％
　・使用方法について　よく分かった　 89％
　・臭気について　　気にならなかった 95％

また、大変に驚くべき事実は、処理後の袋が山道途中にポイ捨てされることが1件もなかったことです。
今回の携帯トイレ配布事業は、初年度とはいえ、富士山のトイレ、環境の改善に大きく寄与した事実が確認されました。

来年度にも向けて、さらにプロジェクトを推進してまいります。

Mt. Fuji. Project

From July 1 to 15, and on September 14 in 2014, we provided “Mt.Fuji Toiltet(portable eco-toilet)” for free at a spot in Fuji Yoshida route of Mt. Fuji. During that period, 12,000 toilets were given to mountain climbers. The mountain climber is asked to the charge to enter the mountain at the spot (halfway) in the route and gave a set of toilet. Then the wastes were collected at the same spot.
To evaluate this first attempt, Yamanashi prefecture conducted questioner survey and received answers from those who used the toilet.

Q. Do you think the portable toilet is necessary in the mountain?
A. Yes (76%)
Q. Do you understand how to use the toilet?
A. Yes. (89%)
Q. Did you feel any bad smell when you used the toilet?
A. No (95%)

It is remarkable that there was no one who left the waste in inappropriate place. This attempt actually revealed that the provision of portable toilets can contribute to the preservation of environment.

This is actually first attempt to promote and diffuse portable toilets in mountain areas and will be a bigger project in many more areas in the future. We plan to expand this project next year.
